I am selling my 2006 Wrangler LJ with 74,000 miles and it presently has a Best-top soft-top on it now and I have a Rallye hardtop in the garage with all the hardware.
I presently have it listed here and on FB Marketplace. Someone contacted me and wants to buy the hardtop but I am not sure as I think it may be better to sell it with both tops.
Most jeeps I see around town (Asheville) have the soft-tops.
What do you all think? Thanks

It is a good selling point to have both. My LJR came with both OEM tops. I would have bought it even it only had one. I ended up selling the hardtop. It wasn’t a big deal for me, I was more impressed that it was a one time owner, all the maintenance records seemed to be in order and it was clean for being 17 years young. The two tops was simply icing on the cake.

It sounds like you’re asking, “will I get more cash selling the Jeep with the hard top, or by selling the hard top separately?”

My bet is you’ll do better selling the hard top separately.

I bought my Jeep with both tops, and immediately sold the hard top. The OEM soft top was trashed, so I sold that for parts and bought an aftermarket soft top. I came out ahead on top money, but I probably would have paid the same, or close to it, for the Jeep if it only came with a ratty soft top.

When I was TJ shopping I put preference on those that were soft top only. I'd rather not have to deal with selling the hard top.
I've been soft top only on all three of my last Jeeps..

If I were me, put the soft top on, price it as if the hard top was on. Then have a price for the hard top. Of course, the usual suspects will offer that price, or less, only if the hard top is included. Avoid selling to the a-holes that approach with the ‘cash in hand’ con. Like they’re doing you a favor.

just up your selling price $750

Man I wish hardtops for LJs were priced like that around my parts; when I bought a TJ hardtop for 600, I thought I won the lottery. Most TJ hardtops here are 1000-1500 and LJs are between 1600-3000. That's if you can find them. The two that I've seen pop up: for 1200, was a 5 hour drive away from me and missing the rear window and for 1625, has a crack running through it

I'd sell it separately; in my mind I'm perfectly okay if the LJ has just the soft top, that's the default and if there aren't too many LJ Hardtops listed, I would take it as a sign of a shortage and that the market is more or less yours to dictate.

Extremely interested! Had same exact car years ago, and i loved it! Please let me know if still available. Thank you
