Ugh, Looks like its my turn. I noticed a strange whine a couple days ago on my 05 Rubi auto. Yesterday it started doing it again.
So I dropped it into neutral and revved it while underway to see if it went away, it did not.
That led me to think that maybe my OPDA was going out. I had one on the shelf, so I swapped it out today. No Bueno.
After a short test drive, the whine was back so I started looking for other culprits, alternator, PS, etc.
When I walked by the driver side then I could clearly hear it was coming from underneath.
So I put it in park and power braked it thru the gears, which lit up the CEL.
I was going to run down to a local transmission shop that has done good work for me in the past, but it instantly started slipping so I turned around and headed home and was barely able to back up my driveway into my garage. Fluid was proper level and nice and red, with just a touch of residue on the towel when I wiped the dipstick. It was changed less than 10K ago.
150 K on the clock, and as best I can tell everything is original.
Here are the codes that popped up in my Zurich scanner:
P0700 TCM ISSUE
P0714 TRANSMISSION TEMP SENSOR INTERMITTENT
P0562 (alt and batt both tested good with the same scanner)
P0944 LOSS OF HYDRAULIC PUMP PRIME
P0733 3RD GEAR INCORRECT RATIO
P1790 FAULT IMMEDIATELY AFTER A SHIFT
P0732 2ND GEAR INCORRECT RATIO
So how screwed am I? PCM screwed or trans screwed, or both?
Thanks in advance.
