Savvy off-road sold? (the unofficial Savvy customer support and Savvy rant thread)

Were those that you replaced/shimmed bad enough to notice a loss of control of the axle while driving or wheeling?

Not quite. While I was doing something else, I noticed that I could shake the end of an arm within the mount. After I went though greasing and tightening everything, there was a very noticeable decrease in the overall "noise" and sloppiness of the Jeep while driving. I have experienced similar improvements after replacing worn shock and sway bar bushings.

I didn’t even pay that close of attention. I assumed at 2k that was the mid arms but it’s just short arms.
Why would you not just get the old arms with JJ? Advertising? Not adding up.
Does anyone else offer this arm in 6061? Are they only in competition with there own arm?

Rock jocks are not double adjustable lowers for a full set at $1,850.
Metalcloak has aluminum double adjustable using their joints for $1,750
Core 4x4 are similar to rock jock with single adjustable with all Johny joints for $1,425
These are the only ones I think of that are competing with savvy.

Okey,
Then they are only bashing themselves.
Rock Jock - D.O.M. steel tubing .188 in. wall
Metal Cloak - "aircraft aluminum"
Core 4x4 - DOM Tubing with .313” wall

Guess I am happy to have picked up the old style Savvy arms.

The core 4x4 arms can be upgraded to double adjustable for $100

There was a period last week when the new ones hit the website that the old ones disappeared. When I first saw them I went to the website and the only control arms for a TJ. Not sure if that was a hiccup or mistake but I would bet the old style will only last until inventory is gone.

Why is the rock slider jutting out into the wheel well in that diagram of the inner fenders?

The sliders fit stock fenders, they need to get trimmed for any aftermarket fender if you want it to look good. Standard procedure for installing full length sliders with after market fenders.

I was being an ass. Could have been an oversight on Savvy’s part or they wanted to show how much more back one would gain. 👍🏼

P.s. nice build projects you’ve got going on with your rig!

Thanks. Safe to say the sliders will be trimmed nicely on mine :)

I'm not entirely certain for the swap to a narrow JJ though. My understanding is both ends have to twist the same amount if they're locked together by the jam nut.

I think they’ll function similarly to a trophy truck trailing arm. I believe they run a hard poly bushing on the frame side to prevent the arm from rotating and damaging the shocks that are mounted to it. Then i believe they run a large heim to get the most amount of misalignment on the axle side. It works there but i dont know the specifics such as any downfalls.
