Savvy off-road sold? (the unofficial Savvy customer support and Savvy rant thread)

I researched it. It's the government spec soft shackle with the "special" government pricing. All good.

It's also possible that they've been working on a nitrous powered Jeep in the garage and some gas escaped. That could result in hilarious discussions around pricing! :cautious:

This was also briefly mentioned in another forum. New short arms using 7075 aluminum and running a narrow Johny joint on the axle side with a rock krawler adventure joint on the frame side while also being $2k now too.

This makes the cost aspect of short arms and a mid arm closer. The short arms already used different sized joints but now having to worry about different size and different style joints isn’t exactly something I was hoping for. I know most here have already jumped ship on the old mid arm but I was planning on staying with short arms but now building my own mid arm seems more reasonable than before.

Yeah, I had posted it one page back here. I think we all sort of knew it was gonna be an RK joint. Just kinda disappointed they went for the "better ride quality" argument for using it.

It makes for less parts to need rebuilt at the same time since the rk joints shouldn’t need rebuilt/swapped out as frequently but I’m on like year 6 and 60k miles with old savvy rear uppers and they’re still tight. I’m not a mud person like some have had issues with pulling the moisture out but still another 500 for a set isn’t exactly cheap for “upgrades” that wernt asked for. I get the fear now bc id assume the same changes will happen to the mid arm.

I'm not entirely certain for the swap to a narrow JJ though. My understanding is both ends have to twist the same amount if they're locked together by the jam nut.

In the past, I have neglected my Johnny Joints for at least 30k miles. The ones I needed to replace or shim were never the uppers.
