When I have free time I like to walk the local " You Pull It Yard" , Yesterday I found a perfect condition leather steering wheel for the TJ. I spotted it, then drove home for a steering wheel puller and battery impact & 40 mins later I was headed home with the wheel that cost $20. I also got the AC vents, air bag, column cover, wiper switch and ignition switch components for just a couple dollars more. I threw the extras in a box I started putting together of misc. parts I might need one day. The steering wheel is super nice, best original condition I've seen. When I purchased my Jeep it had a custom China made wheel of some kind,
no air bag, no horn and the installation crushed the clock spring so you can imagine everything that didn't work. In the first few weeks of ownership I found and installed a standard vinyl OEM wheel with the airbag ect. so then everything worked. Since then I've been on the lookout for the leather wheel and yesterday was that day.
