I think @TheBoogieman meant the actual address. Knowing it will be left all alone for months gives him plenty of time to come by with a trailer and take that jeep off your hand's.![]()

Greased everything that has a zerk after the deep water . I still need to grease the hard to get to double cardan grease fitting on the front driveshaft .
Redid the lift kit by reinstalling the OME rear springs and added a 1 inch spacer up front . After the last trip I decided I want the extra inch of lift .
Installed Black Max shocks and steering stabilizer .
Inspected the front vent tube , looks good . I'm guessing the water came in through the axle tubes .
That would imply that you have an axle seal that's bad.
Not necessarily. Water is much thinner than gear oil and the seals are designed to keep oil in and dirt and dibris out. Even the slightest vacuum inside the diff from rapid cooling in water can suck water through a brand new seal.
Yep and breathers don't always stop that from happening... The cap on the breather can restrict backwards flow. Its main function is keeping the diff from becoming pressurized. It's by far not a perfect design and sometimes shit happens. And that is why the diff has a breather.

The main function is for pressure neutrality.

Well, prepped and painted diff cover and skid plate. Got all old gasket sealant cleaned off, bolts as well. Wire brushed gear housing around the cover area coated with Eastwood matte black rust encapsulate. Cover VTH red engine paint, skid plate black, from paint lying around. Better than nothing. Let all cure a bit over night.Threw some axle shaft seals in this hp30 to swap into the daily driver on 35s

JK Enjoy the HP30. Mine has been great on 33s. Haven't used it yet on my new 35s, but I'm looking forward to it performing similarly.
HPD30 is a great upgrade!
Get you some!! Run it hard!
put the old wobbly jalopy in heated storage last week, for the winter.
Sadly, at 70 YOA, I'm getting to feeble to get in or out of a Jeep
Where did you put your Jeep?![]()
