I don't know about you guys but I love all my old paid for vehicles. I'm 100% happy with them and I get a warm fuzzy feeling when I think about driving them, and how I can keep them looking good and running good all by myself. I have zero interest (no pun intended!) in an overpriced new vehicle. Prices on new vehicles are a huge part of what keeps folks from getting ahead IMHO.

I hate leather too, it’s a terrible choice for seats IMHO.
A saddle is a good use of leather for a seat. I hate it on all other seats (cars, couches, everywhere).
+1 for cruise control. But I want it with a one-button control. Cruise has no need of on/off buttons, or most of the rest. One button: push to set, push to release. I can do my own accelerate, decelerate (it's called normal driving). Done.
Many folks out there don't even know how much they paid for their vehicle.
All they know is the monthly payment.
Some people are convinced that a car payment is a fact of life.
It's not.

But hey, as long as people keep signing up for it, the manufacturers will keep putting them out there.
As far as cruise control, my truck has the radar cruise control.
It's the only "tech" feature I use besides remote start.
Everything else I have turned off.
I get a sneaky suspicion that we are going to see a big downturn in car sales in the coming months / years.
If the Cackler gets in, they'll bail out the manufacturers by giving free cars to the illegals to go along with their free housing.
They are great, but can sometimes be annoying in my 6sp. Have to reset every time I engage the clutch.
That is about right. I remember one time we were buying a car and they kept trying to sidetrack me with car payments and how much I could afford. I had to keep bringing them back to the price of car. Finally had to tell I didn’t care about the payment I want you to settle on the price.
the very few times I shopped new cars I have to keep reminding them I want the cost of the car not the monthly payment. The only time I take a loan out is if it 0% or finance gets me a better price and then I pay it off after 3 payments. My daughters Rogue I bought is $808/mo @ 0% for 36 months.
The friggin glued on ipad in my wife's 16 MB glitched out and when black. It came back a half hour later, told the wife if it glitches again we are dumping the car. Not spending 5-8K to fix this again (went out under warranty once).

Fortunately when you spend $50+K in a mere 3 years in salt (5-7 if you avoid it) all your JL aluminum parts will start down the path to this and you can’t stop it!
Step dads JL did this and it’s the reason he just traded it on a new bronco. I don’t even think it needs to be in a salt environment.

I do like accelerate/de-accelerate, although I certainly can live without them.

Leather is the WORST possible seating surface. Its hot, its cold, its slippery, it doesn't wear particularly well, and its expensive.
When I use the acc/dec I usually undershoot or overshoot a little, and then have to mess with it some more. It's easier just to use the pedals on the floor.
My wife's newish Subaru has weird cruise buttons. I have to relearn them on the rare occasions I drive her car. One-button cruise on all cars would fix that nonsense too.
The first CC I ever used - on a '78 C30 - was one button: SET.
I like "resume", accelerate/de accelerate on most CCs can be tapped for approx 1MPH difference.
Whatever it is, I want the buttons on a stalk, NOT on the damn steering wheel. I always have to look to use such, fortunately only one of our 3 cars has that setup. I purposely installed a Rostra on my TJ because I didn't want the steering wheel controls.
I've never driven a vehicle with "adaptive" cruise - I'd like to try one sometime, but I'm concerned that it would make me a "pack driver".
I guess I am in the minority here, I love all the new tech and creature comforts in my newer rides. Can the components break down, sure, any part new or old can and will break. I get that there are more pieces to the machine therefore increasing the chance of failure but hey, isn't that what the warranty is for? I am speaking about non jeep rides only here, with some small exceptions.
Leather seats you say? I love mine, and the seat heaters allow me to keep my top and doors off longer than the peasants without it. Hell, I wish I had cooled seats as well!! Doesn't matter if you have cloth or leather, your butt be sweating & stanking while creeping on some trails, AC seats...problem solved.
