Unfortunately, it's time for me to sell my TJ. The listing can be seen at autotrader but I'm offering a reduced price to this dedicated TJ community (if you are interested and want to purchase, just make the suggested or your own serious offer on the auto trader site) - https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicle/727123138?LNX=psxlinkshareSince
Excellent opportunity to own a really nice 1997 Jeep Wrangler. My loss is your gain. I purchased this for my teenager and put $1,000s into it the way she wanted. Only problem...teenager didn't want to drive a stick. It's been my regular ride since.
You can't go wrong with this Jeep. It runs great, looks great, and major work has been done for you. I had the frame professionally restored by Ferris Frame in Columbus, OH. I purchased a hard top and black full-size doors for the winter (full-size doors were recently painted red to match by Little Giant Body Shop). I baselined the maintenance to make it easy for me moving forward knowing work to do (165,700) - transmission fluid, transfer case, spark plugs, brake flush, etc. - and have kept it up since.
Some highlights for this Jeep include:
- Frame restoration in 2022.
- New brakes, struts, and Firestone Destination XT tires (165,700 miles).
- Cooling system overhaul (168,200 miles) - Mopar thermostat and water pump, CSF Copper radiator, Mopar radiator cap, all new hoses, and Mopar coolant.
- Tan hard top
- Red full doors
- Red half doors with black inserts
- Black soft top - I have not used this since installing the hard top. It has been untouched in my garage ever since but is included with the vehicle in case you prefer that look. Since I have not used in two+ years, I cannot verify it is in perfect condition so please consider that the soft top frame is in useable condition but the covering will need replaced.
A few additional items of note. I believe the check valve on the fuel pump is faulty, but since it is only a minor inconvenience, I have not replaced. After the Jeep has been sitting for an extended period, you will need to turn the key in the ignition 2-3 times (without cranking) and let the fuel pump refill prior to starting. It only adds 10-15 seconds to start up. Also, the full door passenger-side exterior handle needs adjusted. An overzealous family member caused the latch to come loose but I've not stripped the door to fix yet. Door opens and closes fine, but currently needs opened from the inside on the passenger door. Lastly, A/C needs to be charged if you don't plan on running it only with the top off in the summer.
Photos are representative of the condition of the vehicle and I've tried to capture everything. If you would like to see something specific, let me know and I'll do my best. Also, to be full transparent, you will see minor blemishes in the last photos.
Please contact me with any questions. I do have a reduced price on this listing, but I am open to serious offers.
As Chris has said many times, due to fraud and scams selling things online, I have this posted on Autotrader.com (see link at the top). This protects you and me. All paperwork can be completed online (example - payment and title transfer), test drives scheduled through that site, etc. I'll be happy to answer questions and provide additional photos, but the secure chat and communication through auto trader is preferred, where possible.
