I have a 3000 psi pressure washer, but feel it's to much power to wash the underside of my TJ.

Noticed the small electrical one that Harbor Freight sells.

Has anyone tried the Harbor Freight pressure washer and if not what do y'all recommend.

Most pressure washer pumps have an pressure adjustment that can be dialed down pretty easily, typically a black cap covering a spring and nut.

Shoot ours is probably 20 years or more old.

I will look but not sure how low it will go.

Just thinking the HF would work for the underside and also when washing it.

John - why are you worried about the pressure?

I figured 3000 psi would probably damage wiring and such.

🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

Mine is something like 3500, and I use it on everything without ever having a problem. Even using a 15 degree nozzle, I’ve never damaged anything. Just don’t get too close - and don’t use it barefoot…

I recently replaced my 20-year-old worn out Kärcher pressure washer with a Husqvarna electric pressure washer from Costco. 2300 psi, 1.2 gpm, $239.99. It comes with several different jets for various jobs. The specs are much the same as most electric pressure washers and so far it gets the job done.

I like a shorter wand for washing cars, so I bought this:

I also bought this, which I use to clean the driveway and sidewalk and can flip over to wash the undercarriage of my car and my Sprinter. I haven't tried it on my lifted LJ yet, but expect it will be effective for the jeep as well.

I wouldn’t be concerned about pressure at all, honestly I want the most pressure I can get. Nozzles and distance can be adjusted to keep it at a safe pressure for any chore.

I figure the 1750 psi would be better.

I just don't trust the locker air lines and the wiring to be able to hold up that well.

Don't know why they wouldn't, they survived all I threw at it at Stoney Lonesome!!!!

Maybe I am over thinking it.

Cleaning Units are a more important spec than PSI. CU is PSI X GPM. Personally I would not buy a PW with less than 2.5 GPM. My 8.5hp 3000psi 3 gpm washer is 9000 cu. My 6.5hp 3500psi 2.5 gpm washer is 2750 cu. Even though my small one is higher in psi it does not clean stuff as well as the big one. 3/8” X 25’ hose vs 1/2” X 59’ hose. The PSI is at the tip and decreases rapidly with distance and the angle of the tip used. If you want less psi at the cleaning point just keep the tip at a distance and use a 30 degree tip. The red tip on my big washer is great for removing gum on concrete but will carve a hole in new concrete or wood if not careful.

I hear andy uses 7000 psi on his winshield without issue?

I have a 3500 PSI Northern Tool pressure washer with a professional pump head. I use it all the time. Even have a 500 gallon water tank we hook to a Shurflo pump...most pressure washers need incoming line pressure...to be completely portable. Washed an office building for a friend and their hose pressure and flow wasn't enough to run either of our pressure washers.

If I were to get an electric I'd get a wall mounted one like this and install it in a 24' x 24' freestanding metal carport with drainage tiles.

I added this wall hanging electric pressure washer. It is the best I have personally used for vehicles. 100 ft of hose and I use it all around the house, for just about anything. I know its pricey but so worth it. no mess with hoses and dragging it around, the hose just goes back like a air hose.

That machine is made by Giraffe. Buying directly from them saves half of the money to spend on soaps, brushes and rags.

4 gal/min at 800 psi will far out clean 1.5 gal/min at 2500 psi.

Unfortunately you'll probably never find a high volume pump on an electric rig. So, find a happy medium with what is available. Good thing is that nearly all of these use the universal pump and can be repaired fairly easily.
