I have a 2004 TJ and I want to upgrade the sound system, mine didn’t come with the center console subwoofer but I would like to add it in. I’m not too worried about taking it apart just wondering what I’ll need to buy to be able to do it

How easy is the under the seat to install/ what would I splice into not I have some electrical experience just not a ton

Lets start by what your budget is, and what EXACTLY are you trying to accomplish ?

Are you looking to upgrade the headunit also or no ???
Are you looking for better sound throughout the Jeep with better speakers ??
With only less then $1000 I can have you in a badass setup

I'm an electrical worker by trade, and I've got 30 years of custom car stereo experience.
So you hit the jackpot here. :D I'm a metal head car audio enthusiast

I want to sound louder so at highway speeds I can actually here my music with a soft top on I’d say my budget is around 500-600 I already have a newer pioneer radio in it currently would preferably not change it

I understand.
You WILL want an external amplifier on the 4 main channels for speakers then.

So you have an aftermarket head unit already
Tell me which Pioneer headunit you have......so I can look up the RCA outs

I will show you what I have, and you can decide

$65 ish
SKAR Audio 6.5" Speakers for the rollbar (Crutchfield doesn't carry yet, but their reps highly recommend)
https://www.skaraudio.com/products/tx65-6-5-inch-coaxial-car-speakers

$200 ish
POLK DB5252+ 5.25" front Component Speakers (These blow away all the kicker coaxials recommended, tried them myself)
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB5252/Polk-Audio-DB-5252.html

$130 ish
Rockville 4 ch amp, I have the RXD--F30 but I believe this is the newest one (I mounted mine in center console where dinky sub was)
https://www.amazon.com/Rockville-RXD-T2-Micro-Amplifier-2x600W/dp/B019Z3RITS/?tag=wranglerorg-20

$150 ish
Rockville 10" Powered Sub on my tailgate (But you can do the 8" for under the seat mounting)
https://www.amazon.com/Rockville-RXD-T2-Micro-Amplifier-2x600W/dp/B019Z3RITS/?tag=wranglerorg-20

The rest is wires, RCA plugs, 4/0 battery wiring kits, crimps, etc (This is where you go slightly over $600 but close)
I can guide you to all the kits and you can do this in a weekend. It's that simple.

This is where my amp is mounted, simple aluminum bracket bent to shape, and self tappers
The front speaker pods you can 3D print yourself, or just get the inexpensive brackets instead
The sub I mounted to the tail gate

I was able to fit 6.5's with a couple of relief cuts here and there and some speaker gasketing tape I had laying around.

Part of a Polk MM1 6.5 component set.

Such an amazing difference the sound is when you add proper bass to the total package. So many have no idea what they are missing

Or how much power a good component set can take. I'm running 200 watts to each side. I don't have a problem hearing it, that's for sure.

And 500w on this guy.

As I Lay Dying... Trivium... Parkway Drive... I hope the other people in traffic like it as loud as I do. 🤘
