What did you do to your TJ today?

I was talking to my buddy about my TJ and that I was going to install a winch on it. HE said "I have a 12k winch that I was going to put on my Tacoma before I sold it. I'll sell it to you because I'd rather do that than sell it to some douchebag on Facebook Marketplace." I said "At least you would know the douchebag that would be using it."

EDIT: It is a Superwinch SX12SR for $500.

Now you find out out how good a buddy he is…🤔

Thank you for the idea, that has been bugging me some. It’s like they are setting back in a hole. I may try that.

If you have an Ace or True Value nearby (or big box home center), you can get small nylon washers of varying thickness that will work. I opted for these instead of stacking a number of small metal washer to get the offset desired to close the gap. Both will get the job done but figured if I ever needed to remove the controls again, I'd have a better chance of losing some or all of the washers in the stack over one nylon washer per screw. Just measure the gap you have and buy the appropriate thickness. (y)

Small rubber plumbing fixture washers will also do the job.

Thanks man, he is a sweet sweet dog. Eats up getting petted. Name is Bo.

He gets really excited and every now and then he will like trip over his own 2 feet or misjudge something and just wipe out. I think he’s around a year 1/2 now.

The JCR's are a decent slider but as @JMT pointed out they need some mods which I'm in the process of doing right now.

Yeah they are even more expensive than the GR. I am having a hard time looking away from the CavFab ones for the "value" set that I have to modify anyway that appears to get me 90% of all the best features. Arguably no real "boatside" feature though.
  • $260 + shipping,
  • almost w2w (I have an email out asking if they will make a set full w2w)
  • a double bend at the corner, so not 90*
  • full coverage out to the torque boxes
  • no step or "kick out".
  • I can add torque spacers, inside backer and more screw holes for next to no added expense like @bluescapegoat did. Any extra feedback on these sliders?
GenRights would be my next choice for a slider that gets me to where I want to be considering price and features. (I think )

I've only wheeled with them once so far but they held up just fine as you'd expect. Got a few good slams into them. My favorite part about them is the clean side, no steps or anything, although they do cut their logo into them. At least it's not the fugly poison spyder logo that looks like a shocked dracula in drag

Back bacon - yum! You definitely eat better than most of us on this forum, Kiwi TJ.

Thanks but you don’t see the times when I only have dry bread and water to eat 😂😂
I do like my food 😛 it is a case of knowing where to shop to get the best deals …
