I removed my transmission about 5 months ago, and when removing it I had to use a bolt extractor socket to get the top two E torx bolts out.

I was going to replace them with a hex head but now I can't find the bolts I took off and I can't for the life of me find anything online about the thread size to get them from the hardware store.

The picture is what the OEM bolts are. But rather not use that bolt head.

Awesome thank you!

How’d you get that info cause I have literally spent 5 hrs trying to find the size

I have an old one in my tool box that I used to order some new ones.

I was missing a lot of my transmission bolts, I'm planning to replace them all with regular bolts (I have yet to find the e-torx bolts on any TJ I've worked on). My research yielded this:

1 o'clock & 11 o'clock: 3/8-16, 1-3/4" long
3 o'clock & 9 o'clock: 7/16-14, 3" long

Yea I had the e torx on the top two but won’t have those anymore. Apperciate the response!

agree. Once you get the socket on them...NO chance of slip off. Invaluable when you can't actually see what you're doing.

Don't disagree, but I've never had the trouble that others seem to have in accessing those top bolts.

Well ok. XJ Buddy never seems to have a problem getting to those bolts. But he seems to have a superpower around getting to unreachable bolts. If I can't get it, he slides under and has it in 30 seconds. Maybe I give up too easy because I know he can do it more quickly than me?
