Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

Any particular video you used? Can you link them? There's lots of videos of varying quality/indepthness out there.

Also, do you have AC on your Jeep? If so, how did you manage the evac of the AC lines?

I don’t have a video, but I have some info here.

https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/another-heater-core-replacement-and-a-c-evap-core.15568/

I took my Jeep to a shop and had the A/C evacuated then took it back to the same some to refill once I was done.

Ordered some of these because PO tried led’s and led’s back feed and polarity scramble into weirdtrons making dash lights no workie, while also causing odometer to flash with turn signals when headlights are on.
Plus their old school incandescent bullet style and cheap… $15 shipped..

Just search for "Jeep TJ heater core replacement" I watched quite a few, some more involved (pulling out front seats, etc.), I decided to pull the console, remove instrument cluster, radio, climate controls, etc. Once all bolts holding the dash are out, I used a rachet strap to pull the passenger's side up out of the way (wrapped the strap around the roll bar).

You can get tools to evacuate AC from harbor freight, or ask a local shop to do it for you (at cost).

Pull the battery and tray out first, you'll see the bolts that come through the firewall that holds the heater box. There are six total fasteners.

A little earlier than usual but put windows and full doors back on. Afternoon weather is beautiful but couldn’t take the 50 degree morning 5am drives to work anymore.

Side note- I always forget how heavy full doors are compared to the half doors

Put mine back on today too… the weather gods didn’t get the memo that Spring is here… heavy rains all weekend…

I can tell you exactly, as I weighed mine (what can I say - it's what I do.) However, I don't have soft uppers, which I'm sure are considerably lighter than my BullDawgs:

OEM Driver Full Door w/ Mirror and Hinge Plates54.84 lb
OEM Passenger Full Door w/ Mirror and Hinge Plates54.58 lb
OEM Driver Lower Half Door w/ Mirror and Hinge Plates27.03 lb
Bull Dawg Driver Upper Half Door w/ Hardware17.73 lb
OEM Passenger Lower Half Door w/ Mirror and Hinge Plates27.06 lb
Bull Dawg Passenger Upper Half Door w/ Hardware17.63 lb

yesterday I had a light khaki metallic TJ - just like mine, but in fantastic shape - directly behind me for a good 15 minutes and I just stared at it in my rear & side view mirrors while swerving all over the road in my DD.
I can’t wait until mine is looking good again like that. It sure was a pretty sight. An inspiration. I gots some work to do this winter!

What ones did you buy? Any issues with the install?

I went with SeatbeltsPlus.
The belts are nice and they click into the original latches, but honestly I'm unimpressed.
I learned that they are actually made/sold by Seatbeltsolutions.com & the insert in the packaging advises that installation instructions are available at THEIR website.
Looking at the product offering for the 97-06 front Wrangler suggests that the lap belt portion is connected to the spool (like the original belts), but what I received is NOT what is pictured.

The belts that I received have 3 anchor points, not 2 and their installation instructions are 100% INACCURATE. (and WTF is a "TROX" socket, anyway?)

They say to use the original 2 bolts, but if the lap belt anchor plate is attached using the same bolt as the spool, it tilts the spool making it unusable.
Unless you attach the lap belt anchor plate using a different anchor point, these belts DO NOT WORK.

I opted to mount the lap belt tab to the forward bolt on the roll bar plate (right next to the seatbelt spool).

The other thing that I noticed immediately is that they do not extend smoothly.
You have to CAREFULLY extend the belt or it repeatedly locks up as you try to pull out enough to latch it.

Definitely NOT worth the price.

I should re-name my torx sockets to trox sockets when I get home tonight.
