I was on the Jeep Jamboree site and noticed Tjs are not welcome to the upcoming Moab trip in Oct. I put in an email requesting more information. I am wondering if any of you have seen this.

I too heard that from a local mechanic... he said he had heard the reason was that the organization was not able to carry repair parts for so many different types of Jeeps anymore for trail repairs. I don't know if this is 100% true or not. Just a conversation I was having with a Mechanic a few weeks back. It is a bummer though … :(

One of my best work buddies, AKA redheaded stepdad was one of the founding members of a group from Placerville, California that started the Rubicon Jamberee. He used to cook and help repair jeeps on the trail. He said the jeeps were all MBA's and CJ's then. I felt very fortunate to be able to take him and his girlfriend back in the early 90's and do parts of the trail so he could experience it again. He would literally turn over in his grave, and I'm sure most of those founding members would. I always thought I wanted to do a Jamberee, now I think it's way over rated for what it is.

Did they change the name of the Moab Jeep Jamboree to the Moab Expedition? If not, we may be seeing two different offerings.

Maybe we should all sign up. Or show up and crash the party with a couple hundred TJs.

A sit in is a sit in, a picket line is a picket line... what's a vehicular protest?

Theme song for our protest...even starts with Rubber Duck...I know how we all love those.

Im really anti huge organized run. You are spending money to sit in traffic and your not going to see a lot. And/or its just slooow going and your eating dust all day. Ive done two in Moab and one on the Rubicon. And the first day on all of them I ask myself why TF am I here.

If I was paying to play I would absolutely go with these guys. Their tours are beyond epic. Private and group tours so the numbers are much smaller.

I got invited to do a Jeep tour 9/5-11 but I cant make it. 700-800 dirt miles beginning in Springdale Utah and traveling all the way to Moab. You get to see 5 Utah National Parks.

I can understand where they are coming from. Tj are getting old and the reliability can be suspect depending on the owner. It’s like the 37” rule. I will take my belly height on 35’s over a jk on 37” but I get trying to put on an event of that size rules have to be put in place to get everyone through the trail.
