Mid-arm LJ Rubicon

Picked up my sliders today! Excited to get them trimmed up for the fenders and then add a rail.

Give us the deetz man, don’t keep us in suspense!

Nothing too crazy. Cutting the frame Infront of the Midarm mounts, Sliding the frame back to the cross member in the "TJ" Location. I've found myself dragging and getting hung up on the LJ overhang more and more.

Nice! Any idea what your wheelbase will end up at?

So, 111 inches, you going to 40's or something to make up for the loss in breakover?

I will stay on the 37’s and 4” springs. Sand hollow and Moab are my go to wheeling spots. I have observed that terrain favors a slightly longer wheelbase.

Look into some weld thru primer for those inside plates. That looks like etch prime?

I search around all my local weld shops today for weld through primer. No luck. Could only find cold galv and etch. I should have ordered some in advance.

Spayed the plates and inside of tube with self etch and removed the primer on spots where the plug welds were. Agreed, weld through primer would have been ideal.

Made some progress on the rear stretch. With the extensions made I put the frame back under the Jeep with the extensions in place. Took some measurements and everything lined up how I wanted. Then I got the body mounts under the rear seat built and welded in place. The rear cross was then cut off, raised and tacked into place. Pulled the frame back out from under the Jeep and I’m working on the finishing details. Hoping to have the frame ready to be welded back to the front half later this week.
