What did you do to your TJ today?

Found a cool campground in TN. Lost Creek Campground is 7 miles on a forest service road with vault toilets and no camping fees. We were right on the water as usual. The building is a small town on the Hiawasee River. It is barely standing, but very old and cool. The sign says it was a meeting house.

Copycat. ;) I've had mine for a little over a year now. Still quieter than my Bestop was.
p.s. Their sailcloth top for 1997-02' Jeeps is on sale now for only $150 and free shipping.

I bought the Sierra Off-road sail cloth from tops direct for $150 2 weeks ago for my ‘97 to replace the Smittybilt top that was a new/warranty exchange then sold the Smittybuilt for $150… I don’t know that there’s that much acoustic difference between the Smittybuilt denim and the Sierra Off-road sailcloth… I bought a Bestop sailcloth for my 87 yj back in ‘03 and I’m sure that it was quieter than the sierra offroad… I was hoping for the same result but I guess you get what you pay for!…. As far a quality the Sierra off-road is a tighter fit than the Smittybuilt and the stitching and zippers seem to be the same or better and it’s cheaper!

I don't know why their Trilogy material isn't made for all years, since all year TJ tops are interchangeable. After the first highway ride with my Sierra top, my wife's first comment was "How come we can talk without yelling" (I didn't tell her I replaced the top).
p.s. Back in 03' when you bought a Bestop for your YJ, they were probably still made in the USA. No STRAMP STAMP either.

Got the entire engine assembled and everything plugged in. Primed the oil pump until I could see oil running down the rockers. I cranked on it about 8 times and have yet for it to fire up. I’m wondering if I have the distributor in 180* out. I had my wife “helping” me by holding her finger in the plug hole since the crank was hard to turn by hand and she said she thought she felt air coming out lol Idk though because I’ve installed them backwards before and they try to start and jump around but won’t run. This just isn’t running, I have fuel at the rail, cleaned my block grounds, double checked the sensors and all are connected 🤔 I’m half afraid to keep cranking and dumping fuel in the cylinders if it’s not firing up. Guess I need to take a step back and reevaluate my life choices lol

I haven’t checked yet. I did before I pulled it and am using the same coil and plug wire and distributor. It’s my birthday so I had to stop working on it for some family time lol I used top of the line Redline assembly lube on the bearings so hopefully I don’t burn them up trying to figure this out 🤦🏼‍♂️

I have been amazed/confused at your ability to fix/weld anything. You have skills and patience I've never had. When I was your age I had lack of money and common sense that got me through most projects. Four ex-wives later, I still have no money or common sense. WTF happened? Keep up the great work. (y) You will figure everything out with your Jeep.
