WRG winch rope on the website!

Go look up camouflage uniforms for snow areas and post up a pic. I'll wait.

I learned this a while ago, and as counterintuitive as it sounds, the answer is white, black and a bit of dark green.

Moderately visible is not the same as bright and easy to see.

You couldn’t wait. 😉

By “other colors” I meant the bright ones you suggest. Not any color.

I used to be a hunter, so I’m well aware of of snow camouflage colors and patterns in various places in the world. I’m not recommending a snow camouflage rope or pattern. 🙂

Reading is hard.

Yes it is.

I think the picture is fairly close to reality. The color is quite bright in person, as I was hoping it would be. And the quality and feel of this rope is significantly nicer than the Amsteel Blue rope I installed 8-9 years ago. The Amsteel is very floppy and likes to tangle, and the fibers snag. The WRG rope ought to be much better behaved than what I am used to.

Planning to order one of these soon, do I want the drum loop?

Will be going on a VR Evo 8 if that makes any difference.

The primary reason I will be happy to have the drum loop is to no longer be concerned about the rope falling off the drum in the event that I spool out too far. It is a minor fear and annoyance, but worth mitigating. The rope still needs to be taped to the drum for a few wraps

I received my new rope from Blaine yesterday. And what he and Dan say about the "hand" of the rope is accurate - it definitely feels more substantial than my stock Warn rope (although, it is several years old and has held up well).

Some of you guys know how OCD I can be, and dammit! now I have to repaint the rig...

🙂

And by the way, since Blaine provides a safety thimble with his new ropes, I have one unused which I no longer need. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll send it off.

Thanks Blaine. No surprise here, but a great product.

Should have bought the black rope 😂

You're welcome and I am glad it meets your compromised standards being a fan of yellow and all. FYI and anyone else paying attention, if they send the thimble in, we credit near full price to send it back on a winch line.

Now you tell me.

🙂

@PNW_LJ , please write “REFUSED” on the label when the package shows up at your door…

😉

(I’m kidding, of course)

Is it for a rear suckdown winch…. like to prevent a rollover?

Not like you would know. 😀

I didn’t know that. I will have to take you up on that offer.

Here is Carrot installed!

This rope is definitely nicer to work with than my old Amsteel rope was. And I'm happy to have a bright color, too.

Here is the old next to the new. Notice one of the early Safety Thimbles.

I may have to plead allegiance to Team Carrot for winch ropes.

I love that photo showing the design evolution of safety thimbles.
