Hey guys.. I recently bought a 98 with removable windows … on the paint, where the window rests where it’s slightly indents has rubbed over the years and created rust spots… is there a guard or something I can buy for that? Or options other than just having that part of the door repainted ?

Pictures!

I have the same issue with my 97 sans rust. The paint on top of my half doors just wears away. I try and keep it clean and use a little grease.

You will need to address the rust that is there first. If you don't, it will get worse. After you kill the rust and protect it (paint), then you could probably put some protective film down to prevent more rub through.

Getting rid of the rust first is the biggest thing. the folks above recommended products I used on my last car that worked wonders. You may be able to find some touch up paint that you can use to cover small areas without having to rattle can the door and worry about overspray or anything else.
