I folded down my windshield for the first time this weekend. To my surprise (we’ll not too much do to it’s age) I found a ton of hidden rust on the bottom of the windshield frame. What do any of you suggest that I use to treat this to slow down the spread a little? I know I can’t stop it, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

I guess the rest of your Jeep is OK enough to keep on driving. If that's the case I'd sand it down, hope that most of it doesn't disappear into thin air and as long as it still seems to be connected to the rest of the Jeep, even with small holes, I'd prime and paint it, followed by some fluid film both inside the frame and what's visible.

If you're going to restore the Jeep, that frame probably needs more than that. If that Jeep is on it's last legs. I'd ignore it.

I don't think that can be sanded down, that looks like you need a new frame entirely. @toximus went through something similar and has some info in his build thread about how he dealt with this.

If that was my Jeep I would get a new frame, have it painted, and make sure to regularly check it out from then on.

That looks very similar to what mine was. Once it started to rust there, it rusted really fast.
I ended up buying a new windshield frame.
Luckily mine was contained to just the windshield frame, and not the firewall/dash area.
