In y’all opinion do windjammers really work and if you are caught out in rain can the soft top be put up over it? The reason I ask is since my Dad passed away sometimes I have to drive my Mom to her doctors appts etc. like a good son😄. She, of course doesnt want her hair to get messed up if I have the top off so I thought that might be a compromise to look at. Any thoughts?

My windjammer/safari combo does a good job of keeping the wind down. In a rainstorm though I get water intrusion.

I have a wrap around Windjammer that utilizes the rails in the door surrounds. Paired with my Safari top, and tonneau cover, it is pretty much sealed.
But, you can't use the wraparound with the soft top like I think you can with a regular windjammer.
Also I think it's too confining, and vision is completely blocked looking over your left shoulder.
I rarely use it.

The standard windjammer will still allow you to put the soft top up. I really does help with wind intrusion.

The Windjammer I had wouldn't allow the front seats to be positioned far enough back so the seatback wasn't pushing against it. Even like that it wasn't quite far enough back for me. At 5-10 I'm not tall enough to need to position the seats back all that far either.

True, but I just adjusted the straps and let the sets press against it. Still helps a lot with the wind.

I used to run a full length safari top on my CJ-7 with half doors and a tonneau cover over the rear deck. I added upper soft doors and a Windjammer in bad weather. There was some rain intrusion around the upper doors but it was good enough for all but the heaviest downpours. I had no issues with interference between the Windjammer and the seat backs, even when the seats were adjusted all the way back and the seat backs touched the Windjammer

Well I’m 6’2” and have to slide the seat back all the way every time I get in it. I hadn’t thought about the windjammer being in the way to sliding the seat all the way back. In your opinion given my height and having to slide the seat back every time I get in it will I be able to still slide it back all the way if I do have a windjammer installed?

In that photo I posted, both seats are all the way back. I'm 6'0".
