White Soft Top Replacement / Repair

Hi everyone,

I’m new here. I recently bought a white 99 Sahara TJ that came with a white hard top and soft top. Unfortunately, mice have gotten to one of top panels on the soft top. I understand they are hard to find but I just wanted to throw it out there that I am looking.

I’m also looking at a repair option. I’ve talked with a local upholstery shop. They said they could replace the section but none of the materials they had samples of were a great match. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good replacement material?

The white hardtop is just paint so that's easy.

As far as the white soft top goes, those are as rare as hens teeth. I've never seen a thread on here discussing replacement material for such a top. I would suggest contacting as many upholstery shops as you can. One is bound to have a decent match for it.

Definitely rare, don't think I've ever seen a TJ with a white top. Tan or Khaki are rare enough!

My advice would be to replace the soft top with a black top. You can go the upholstery shop route, but that's going to be costly each time you need to repair the top vs. just replacing with a new top.

When I bought my first Jeep (2012 JKU) I chose black because the unpainted top matches. So I get it, looks better.

I think the TJ never came with factory white and that would make it aftermarket if I am correct.

Take a real good look at the rest of the top. Maybe it is worn and that is why the material does not match very well. While you are examining it maybe think about a complete new top. If the top is 20 years old there is a good possibility the matching material no longer exists.

Scour the interwebs, maybe someone, somewhere has one for sale.

Just so you know, my 99 TJ is factory issue white soft - top which I have replaced once with a barn find new white top about 15 years ago - top is now toast
