Wow that is a great package deal. If I didn't already have 5 I would get those just for the USB-C charging.
FYI the Chirp programming software is so easy to use. Program one, save it and you can then upload that file to any other chirp compatible radio.
Can you post some pictures of the display. I am curious to see how much different it is.

I like the charging stands and the LED flashlight. I need to dig out my laptop and download chirp. I’ll be using them on my ride Thurs.

Nice. Now if they let you do two lines of text per channel name. That would be awesome 1 line the name of the channel the second line the actual freq. No need to switch back and forth.

I programmed mine by putting the frequency numbers on channels . That way in channel mode you see the frequency numerical and channel number .

Yeah I know you can do that but that is not specifically what I am referring to. In my specific programming I have a bunch that are for Fire departments and police departs, local DPW and so forth....I would love to be be able to show what I named the channel and the actual freq.

Yes , it would be nice if it would display a channel name and frequency simultaneously :) .

Passed my Tech and General a couple weeks ago, picked up a Yaesu FT-5DR, but I'm using Ham for more than just trail comms so a $350 handheld probably isn't for everyone

I've passed mine a couple of weeks years ago: Aced tech because I studied, passed General by the skin of my teeth and a lot of luck because the VE wanted us to try. Anyway, there is almost zero VHF/UHF activity around here - how is it in Utah? There's more CB traffic than ham, and CB is pretty dead too! I'd like to try HF, but its so damn expensive.
