So here's a couple pics of the rigs. The tent and rack from the sport is going onto the Rubicon. I ordered a set of used Moab wheels for it, and a new set of factory fender flares to replace the cut ones. I'll probably order a Gobi rack for it next month, and it will probably show up just in time for winter camping to be in full swing. The Smittybilt one will do until then though.

Before you get too deep into this, just go camp for a weekend in the TJ with the wife, dog, and all your junk. You really dont know anything till you shove it all in the Jeep and go do it.

I can easily pack 1 week worth of stuff for two people. No way with a dog.

As to the title of the thread, a truck.

My 12# dachshund fits just fine even with the gear.
