Not a bad system though they kind of screwed a lot of people when they changed up the format on them some years back, making new containers incompatible with the original system. I'd be one of the screwees...
I have my sockets on the harbor freight magnetic strips they so frequently have on sale. The sit in the drawer just fine. I don't believe they would be any good for a mobile tool set. They
I like Hanson socket trays for regular sockets, and the VIM magrails seem to work good for odd ball sockets. For wrenches I really like the Ernst modular wrench rails.

It is pretty big. I upgraded to it about a year ago, and I really like it. The lockers on it are not Snap On, I just modified some harbor freight lockers to fit. It is just shy of 12’6”.

Didn't see if you noted it in any posts here, but what's the skinny on the roll up bag? I like that idea for a vehicle tool kit. I've been using a tanker bag with canvas wrench rolls, but that bag would simplify things.
