I honestly don’t know. I read on JK forums it's not uncommon w/ double cardan DS and 5.13 gears and driving highway speeds...Seems odd to me as I have 5.38 in the TJ w/ double cardan DS and have never had an issue.
LOL, I was driving back from a job walk in LA, I had wrapped up early so I was thinking of where I was going to eat breakfast and suddenly a LOUD screech and BOOM it went. Scared the SH*T out of me. Parts hit me, jeans caught on fire, damn near hit the car next to me, it was wild. Got to the side of the freeway, put the fire out and waited for a tow truck. Insurance won’t cover it, so now we wait for the pennies to pile up to get it fixed.
With 5.13 gears and highway speed, I wonder if the driveshaft exceeded its designed RPM.
If it did, it could have been flexing and stressing the transfer case until it exploded.
Just a theory, especially if it's not uncommon on JKs with that setup.

Got the Bronco together and DROVE it today!
Forgot how much I missed it.
It does indeed run much better and smoother.
It will run even more much better when the new engine goes in soon.
Starting the swap this Saturday.
I worked on my 80 K-20 with a 408 BBC swapped in in . It hasn't ran since 2003 . A $ 50.00 rebuilt battery and 3 gallons of non ethanol gas and I had it spinning and cranking great. But no ignition , I had a new module and crawled into the fender well to change it and found the damn ground squirrels don;t always like the ground. Repair the pickup coil wire and it started up after a little priming. I did notice that crawling into the engine compartment is not as fun as it was 25 years ago when I built the engine and swapped it .

On the wife’s JKU the aftermarket radio stopped working. Removed it, tested for power had 12 volts from the battery. Didn’t have 12 volts from the ignition wire. Looks like the little box that keeps the steering wheel controls working isn’t functioning correctly as 12 volts go in, but comes out intermittently. Ordered a new one.
On the daughters JKUR the after market rear view camera stopped working. The wire from the camera to the mirror was bad. She bought a new one had to re-route a new cabling system. I was hoping it was just the camera or the connection. No luck.

Replaced the teeny tiniest ribbon cable with 4 individual cables on a headlight switch. It was so fun lining them all up together to go through the second board

My wife and I are heading out tomorrow morning to Komiefornia to meet our two newest great grandbabies. I will be posting pictures of my new to me 2024 2500 6.4 Ram doing what I bought it to do, pull our 26' travel trailer on travels.
Took the old MBZ to the shop as it was handling weird. Turns out there's a worn bushing on something to do with a front control arm / front sway setup. Very cheap part, but the labor is expensive. But like I said to my mechanic, that part has 350K miles on it, it doesn't owe me anything. This also explains an ongoing alignment problem as well as an ever increasing clunk I've been hearing for the last year or so and nobody could figure it out. I suspect the genesis of the whole thing has to do with the sideswipe event in 2022 as its on that side (driver's), but the passenger side is OK. We're going to refresh both sides while we're at it. $110 for the parts, $900 for the labor to tear the whole thing apart to replace. That's OK, beats paying $5K for a replacement tail light!

Back when we had layer houses, I would have said that it smells like money!!!
Now days it just smells like crap.......
This will have double the analysis value of commercial fertilizer for the price and will add organic matter. We also have quite a few dairies near and I'll be investigating using manure from there also.
Grain prices are pretty low right now but fertilizer, seed etc are still in the hangover stage of high prices. Always looking for alternates.
A trip to the car wash made it at least a little bit purdier,
