What did you do to your other vehicle today?

Replaced the fuel pump on my Bronco.

Now, a full size Bronco has a 33 gallon tank, and fuel pumps only go out when the tank is at least half full.

So instead of dropping the tank I cut a fuel pump access hole and used a piece from an old F150 bed to make the cover.

Upon exposing the fuel pump, I discovered relics from the DPO (Dreaded Previous Owner, Dumb Previous Owner, or in this case Dip**** Previous Owner)

They had kinked the hard fuel line from the tank to the filter 90 degrees.

And then to add insult to the dip****ery, they also squashed the hard line nearly flat under the tank strap.

Now none of this can be seen unless you drop the tank, or in my case cut an access hole.

They probably unleashed all this carnage as they were hoisting the tank back into place.

I'm surprised the truck ran at all, though it had to be starving for fuel at high RPMs.

Oh well, I've ordered the complete tank to filter fuel line from Broncograveyard.com

The new engine will be much happier with a non-squashed fuel line.

Can you still swap out everything from your access hole , or do you have to drop the tank now ? ( Man I hope not ) !

Today I bought my other car, well a truck actually. My father had been wanting to replace his 2015 Ram, yesterday he picked up a 24 Ranger lariat and today sold me his Ram! Excited for that as a new home owner a truck quickly felt needed! Since it does need some here and there things I got some brake rotors to get the brakes back to snuff. View attachment 648600

I'd say you got the better part of the deal for sure!

Despite being pressure treated, despite my adding additional copper wood preservative, the Florida sun and rain was beating the Hell out of the plywood bed on the utility trailer. Since our Benevolent OverLords have outlawed private use of Creosote (which I slathered on a previous utility trailer that was ALL wood), time to find an alternative! Used diesel oil from the old Mercedes. The wood soaked it up like a sponge!

Had a coworker tell me he kept a bucket of used oil to soak fence posts in before setting them.
I asked him how many fence posts he typically set…

He said “Only 4 or 5, but I never got rid of the bucket of oil.”

I said, “Thats not keeping it to soak fence posts, that’s hoarding” 😆

Replaced the headlight bulbs in my '14 Ram 1500 which is harder than it needs to be. Was running Philips Crystal Vision Ultra's for the past 9 years. Unfortunately they no longer make them so trying Osram Night Breaker 200's for lows and Laser's for highs. At first glance and comparing one side to the the Philips, they seem to be almost indistinguishable. I didn't want to go with LEDs in a reflector housing but wanted the brightest and whitest halogen I could get. I recently put yellow Auxbeam LEDs in the fogs and have been happy with those. We're coming into our rainy (and dark) season so we'll see how it all goes

My replacement fuel line finally came in and I got the chance to swap it out.

Behold the carnage wrought on the original fuel line by the DPO.

Remember this is a HARD fuel line.

The 90 degree bend (that sprayed fuel on me when I removed it. Nightmares on what could've happened if that had sprayed fuel while I was driving it for years).

And where they managed to crimp it nearly flat between the tank and a tank strap.

Once again, I am surprised it ran at all.

It was weak which I always assumed was just that the engine was tired.

Watch it run like a raped ape now that it can actually get fuel.

Oh well.

With the new engine it will run like a Democrat to a Soros funded protest.

Is DPO the Dumb Previous Owner?
