What did you do to / in your garage / shop today?

I am spending way too much time fixing up the mini-garage. It's cold out though and I'm waiting on Jeep parts. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it 😁

Mounted my propane heater to get it up out of the way and easy to access. Also installed one of those slow close tailgate hinges on the work bench because only peasants hold their work bench as it unfolds 😄

I don't know how much help this can be for you guys who live in real cold climates but one way I heat my garage is to drive one of the vehicles and get it good and warm then park in the garage and open the hood, I get quite a bit of heat. My garage is around 1,000 square feet with a 12 foot ceiling and very well insulated, so whatever heat I can get in there stays put for quite a while and of course cold here is anything from 30 to 50 but we do get the occasional teens for a few hours overnight. I also have 3500 watts of baseboard heat and a small electric warehouse furnace on the ceiling which if I recall is 6 or 7,000 watts, but a warmed up vehicle heats it up pretty fast.

Just got confirmation that my 50,000 - 200,000 BTU convention propane heater from northern tool is out for delivery!!!

I went this route due to having 2 100 lb cylinders already and the heater was less than half the price of the torpedo heater, so I can always buy another if needed.

Love it! New rule: on release you HAVE to say, "Go Go Gadget Workbench!"

How cold is it in Alabama right now?

Leave a door cracked, the amount of moisture those put out is impressive.

Ha, the shop isn't air tight by any means, walls and ridge will probably let a bunch of heat out.

Got it put together and fired it up. Didn't run it long just a test and it does put out the heat!!!!

Probably end up buying a second one for the real cold days, till I can get the shop insulated.

If your shop is tall you might want to consider using a fan to bring the hot air down from the ceiling. I have a bow fan blowing on low against my wood stove which is in a corner of my shop and it makes a big difference heating the while shop.
We’re in a heat wave for the next 10 days. Highs in the high 70s-80s and lows in the high 50s. Jan is our cold month with lows in the mid 30s. Heating the shop makes working so much more pleasant and productive.

Thanks for that, I will definitely look into that!!!!!
