What are the names of these two parts.
Would they cause a P0443 code?

Yes, grasping at straws. Swapped out the purge valve and the charcoal box, and the vac line boots as well as the gas cap. Also fixed the hard short. Still throwing the P0433 Code

Yes, that's the leak detection pump and its accompanying air filter. Seems like you have an issue with the evap system for sure. I recommend testing the LDP, the CPV and looking for leaks. Do it in a systematic way and dont just throw parts at it. I'm chasing an evap leak right now and it's very time consuming but when I identify the issue im sure it will prove to be something very small and easy to fix. I highly recommend this video about the evap system in the Cherokee. It's the same evap system thats in the TJ but the components are in different places. The video will really help you think about the evap system and tell you how to to test it.

Have you ohmed out the purge valve control wires that go back to the pcm? When I was struggling with an intermittent P0443 it ended up being a broken wire inside the insulation right at the back of the purge valve solenoid connector.

I’ll ohm it out tonight. Planning on smoke 💨 check tomorrow. Thanks for feedback. I’ll update when I run it down.

Ya… soooo… stupid light came back on after a few trips about town. It has to be a lose electrical connection

I did find out that on the TJ’s 2.5 the evap system is only checked between 3/4s and 1/2 tank. So trying to get it to stop with a full tank or less than 1/2 tank is pointless.

Stupid engine light. Ugh!! Popping a P0443 code. Did everything from this vid.
Dropped the tank yesterday, disconnected and reconnected everything. Even blew air up the hard line from tank to charcoal filter. Only two parts not changed.
1. The filter from Canada, as seen in the pic.
2. The PCU
Could it be the PCU?

I did have a hard short on top of the transmission.

Could it have scrambled the PCU? Again grasping at straws.

Smoke tester

Oh right. Did smoke test. There were some leaks around the rotted out elbows to and from charcoal filter and the pump. Fixed all leaks.
Thanks for the reminder. Forgot, I payed a king’s ransom for our family mechanic to smoke check it.

I parked on an incline. Drivers side slightly down. Last time I parked like this the check engine light went out. For a few starts. Then came back on. :(
