Stopped to get gas today. Restarted it and drove about 50 yards and the check gauges alarm went off and had zero oil pressure. Luckily I was still in the lot, stopped, shut it off and jumped out to check. No leaks anywhere. Took the risk to start it back up and oil pressure came up to normal. Drive it home no issues, no abnormal engine noises. Anyone know of the gauges just sticking or failing intermittently?

Thanks, felt like an electrical issue, but not something I want to gamble with. I’ll look into a mechanical gauge

And I'm just talking about a test gauge...you can borrow one from most auto parts stores or buy a cheap one on Amazon. It's an 1/8" NPT fitting but just about every kit on earth should be compatible.

It's probably a faulty sensor or wiring...my wiring was pretty tight to my sensor and was probably tugging at the connector pins.

That being said get a mechanical gauge on there...as the Russians say, and Regan paraphrased...trust but verify.

I knew working for the Russians would come in handy one day.

I had similar issues many years ago. Scared me too. I took off the oil pressure sensor and it was full of goo. Cleaned it. Changed my type of oil to synthetic blend. Sensor hasnt failed in over 10 years.
