Only until it reaches operating temperature my auto 2006 TJ X makes this weird noise. Sounds like an old hard drive! Anyone know what it could be? Thanks for the help!

Here’s the sound

Yep. It's the HDD all right.
I recommend going to an SSD.

It sounds cyclical (varies with throttle / RPM). Does it have any other symptoms? Vibrations? Did it start all of a sudden, or has it gradually come about?

The jeep has had some weird stuff for a while, vibration in idle, shimmy above 55…

But this noise just came out of nowhere. It happens at idle, under load and even when I let off the pedal, only until normal temp. It has been with the car for about a month but only now is it getting annoying enough for me to want to fix it.

Sounds like loose pre cats , where the exhaust bolts on- drivers side under the intake...from what I can tell
