I just made a 6-1/2 minute update video to a 24 minute video I made last year. Question regarding yootoob viewing preferences...

I can either post this video stand alone, with pointers to the original - and vice versa pointing to the update FROM the original...

-=OR=-

I can edit in the new material into the old video, and re-upload it. Yootoob does NOT allow in-place updating, so I'd have to delete the original which means I'd lose the viewer count as well as the one comment on the thing. Viewer count isn't very high. Both were filmed in my Ma'at garden, so the new material would look different than the old because the garden has grown - BUT - the subject isn't about the garden at all, its about camera lenses - so I don't know if that would be a distraction or not.

Comments please...

Just make a new video.

It's YouTube. You can do whatever you want. And people can choose to watch or not.

You could do a clip show... reference the original video editing in previous clips. I do that occasionally when we talk about previous trash cleanups to add context.

I use Open Shot on my Windows laptop to edit. It's clunky but intuitive and free.

That's one I haven't heard of - I've been using "shotcut" for several years - its cross platform and free. Years back I used Apple's iMovie, but then it gradually became full of bugs that they wouldn't fix, so I had to go elsewhere.
