V8 Tesla swap

That must be the case, because a well optioned Model S will annihilate any V8 on the road, at least up until higher speeds.
If that's what you're buying a Tesla for then that's great. It's just like spending a bunch of cash on a car that puts straight line speed over its practical use. If you want to take your cammed out Nova around town & lay down patches because its fun then so be it. When it comes to using it like any other ICE car it just becomes less practical.

I've been keeping my eye on the emerging EV bike market, there are a few out there that look promising. I wouldn't mind one be getting a little EV bike to tool around town & get to work.

Look at Zero Motorcycles. They make the best electric motorcycle money can buy. I almost bought one and I’ve ridden them extensively.

Are they the ones who almost completed the Isle of Mann.

haven’t kept up with it from what I remember there was a California based company that just about demolished the completion. But ran out of juice and just coasted across the finish line still minutes above the competition

Didn't you spend like $35k on a mountain bike? Why don't you have one already. Buy one & bring it to Moab so I can try it out.

It feels like I do it too often.

But, it’s also 232 miles or 5 hours to the closest Arby’s.
Dude I'm pretty sure you living up there makes you not a target demographic for anything.

For what you have to lay out for a Tesla the EV thing just doesn't make sense. They're pricey. I've thought about how nice a little EV would be for the purpose of my 6 mile drive to work everyday, but apart from that the logistics just don't make sense. One of my coworkers has a Tesla, whenever he takes trips he uses the app to plan his route around available charging stations. It's doable, just seems like a pain in the ass.
Stopped at a huge gas station heading West on I-10 in North Florida a week ago. Easily the biggest station I have seen outside of Texas. We had to wait, maneuver, get in line, to fill up my buddies F-350. There were probably 15 Tesla charging stations and not one being used.

Yes, that’s them.

Having ridden their motorcycles they are bat shit insane. I’ve ridden some of the fastest motorcycles in the world, but their Zero SR/S is the fastest thing off the line I’ve ever ridden, period.

Of course where it falls short is the same place all other electric motors fall short, range. Once you start actually racing it you’ll be lucky if you got 20 miles.

That Sondors is interesting indeed - although pricey for what it is. I'd expect to pay half that for something similar. I note that they took extreme care to coddle the smartphone crowd. Lose that and the electronic dashboard and it would be more affordable - and would increase its range slightly too. But the detachable battery pack everybody's raving about is indeed worth raving about. Carry it in and charge it at work.

Tesla's seem to be poorly made from what I've seen and heard. It is funny that they are putting in a gas engine. That'll surly piss off the Tesla fanboys.
