Unknown Sensor

I’m putting the AX5 back in and it seems I have a dangling sensor that I cannot find a home for. The pigtail splits off the main xmsn harness at the same place the backup light sensor pigtail splits off. There’s only enough length for it to go somewhere around the gearbor or the xfer case. The part # is rubbed off and I have not found any image, thread or video that gives me a clue as to what this is. Could this be an unused sensor? My only option is to finish the install without it and see what happens.

This is out of a stock 97 TJ 2.5l w/ AX5 xmsn. SE trim.

Probably for a neutral safety switch which you don't have.
