Tworley build

I didn't see a long line of people willing to spot on an obstacle like this. That takes a level of trust and confidence! :)

I've wheeled with @hosejockey61 a lot over the years and trust him, its easy to tune everyone else out when he's the one spotting.

Nice additions, I wish I would have got corner guards before I slid into a rock and then a tree. What are the steel bars for?

The long one will be ripped into a rub rail for the custom sliders some of us bought years ago.

The shorter, taller one will also be ripped and used as a spacer for the sliders underneath where they attach to the torque boxes.

The aluminum in the box will be used as a backer.

Spent the afternoon replacing the exhaust manifold.

Not quite done, need to put the charcoal tank back on and reconnect vacuum lines. While the fender is out of the way, I put on a steering riser @GregBelleville sold to me a while back

Ill finish this tomorrow and hopefully pass emissions later this month

I went through this exact thing with a '99. It was worth the work!

It wasnt too bad, lots of things have to come off though which makes this project not much fun.

I had high nox two years ago with the old cracked manifold, which i think caused a lean condition. I slathered JB weld all over it and passed the next go round. But looking at it today, there were more cracks in the manifold.

You did it right with removing the fender. I've done it fender on and fender off — Fender off 100% worth the extra work to get the fender off!

I too need to do a steering riser... Did you give your steering shaft bearings a wiggle to see if they're toast?

I can't imagine doing this with a fender in place. Bolts 1, 2 ,4 and 5 were hard enough to spot with the fender removed.

The bearings are good! I replaced them back in January/February with a good used set when I was building the hydro-assist.

Having the jeep as a trail rig only now, its easy to get behind (forget) on maintenance. Injector orings from felpro were $1.47 on rock auto. Never had issues, but swapped them in anyway while im doing other things

It seems to idle smoother, but all I did was start it for about 30 seconds. So...not much of a data point
