Sorry to revive an old thread, but there's already a lot of great info in here so it makes more sense than creating something new.
Now that we have our new (used 2019) F350 DRW, we are shopping for truck campers. I'm trying to keep it fairly light (in the grand scheme of TCs) and with minimal overhang. I'm not going to use an extension because there is a point down the road we will be towing between 12-15k and I need the wiggle room in payload to account for that tongue weight. That will be a little while, but we're trying the future proof now, so that we don't have to upgrade down the road. Also must have a wet bath. We're trying to select something that will suit our needs for 10+ years. We're not fancy campers, we really just want a comfortable place to sleep and go to the bathroom for Jeep trips or just camping trips.
The truck has a 5305 payload and already has TC mounts, bed wiring, airbags, and Torklift StableLoads.
We were kind of set on an Adventurer 80RB Overland and then found out that it can't fit on a dually. You can't install dually brackets. So that led us to the Wolf Creek 850 and Lance 850. Both seem like they will work with our standard hitch, though I may have to relocate the jack on our current trailer and the aluminum trailer I'm eyeing for the nearish future.
Going to look at the Lance today. If it will work we're kind of leaning that way as it's just a little more "premium" than the WC. We haven't seen the WC yet either but have watched a ton of videos, walkthroughs, and 3D tours. We'll likely have to go to Oregon to check out the WC because our local (hour away) dealer won't have one in until late March.
Hoping that maybe some other folks will chime in since it's been a bit and share pictures of their setups!
