Hey! i recently got a jeep and its been making a weird clunking noise around the transmission area, it happens when the clutch is depressed, when you pressed the clutch it goes away almost entirely, and higher RPMs (video goes to ~1500) also makes it go away, a little back story, the jeep came from RI, an auction i originally thought it was the exhaust banging against the transmission but that doesnt seem to be the case, motor mount seem to be in a bad-ish condition, im waiting for some brown dog motor mount and i already have a new transmission mount, i have not change the transmission fluid yet doing that this weekend but i dont think it would solve this issue, just wondering if you guys have seen this before

Check the u joints and torque on all control arm bolts including the track bar bolts, and the shocks and skid plate.

thanks for the suggestions! checked the control arm, they are good and the u joint has some play but not a lot and it doesnt move when the noise is happening and the skid plate was welded to the frame, one thing i notice is the transfer case shifter being hard some imma adjust the linkage, I also notice that the noise pretty much goes away for a couple of seconds when the transfer case is shifted, worst case scenario imma remove the transfer case and transmission :/

You could also have a transmission mount go bad

i would say it is definitely bad, the motor mounts are pretty rough already, im waiting for USPS to delivered some browndog motor mounts and it keeps getting delayed i got the transmission mount from Napa, all of them rubber mounts, i want to do them all at once and change the skid plate since its welded to the frame and it is all bent around the edges

If it doesn't completely disappear sitting still, in gear, clutch depressed, the issue is in the engine or clutch assembly itself.

Those are the only moving parts in that scenario.

U joints, etc. are not moving while the vehicle is stationary. So stay out of those rabbit holes.

To update here, it was spark-plugs, i changed them but i also swap all the engine and transmission mounts, engine mounts were ok but transmission mount was gone, it runs as good as new now. Thanks for all the help!
