I purchased a new enclosed trailer and mounted a 3.5K winch to the floor to load vehicles. My test pull with the Jeep was easy enough, but I paused on the last few feet because I was concerned about the rope angle possibly pulling the bumper down towards the deck, or the winch trying to pull itself up from the deck. Basically, the Jeep bumper is belt height and the winch is on the floor, so there’s an extreme angle and vertical load over the last couple feet I need. Maybe I’m overthinking it.

Do I have anything to worry about here or is there a strap setup that’s beneficial in this scenario?

Or source a single J-hook from a tow truck, positioned at the center of the axle. Easy on, easy off, if you hook it from the bottom (hook side up). Then 'whip' cable/rope to free the hook.
