I have made a prototype of a sun visor for use exclusively for a TJ. It is designed to shield the sun for a cell phone or GPS.

Again. It’s a prototype and I am hoping to get some reactions to it

Thanks
Gary

Definitely would be useful in the sunny Southwest. Sunshine through the windshield results in phone overheating snd shutting down.

It’s an idea but I’m not sure how PETG, ASA hold up in the heat. I made some ABS parts for the RC car and left them in the car one day and they have never held the same shape since.
Visually it might be too high for me and block some view.

PETG is for a prototype. The final result would be ASA and injection molded. I'm testing the height now to see just that. Also investigating other options. I appreciate the feedback

Ultimately ASA is the choice. Protype with PETG is good for now. Thank you

One of the things that makes the TJ appealing is easy sight lines and the flat dash helps a lot with seeing like the Passenger front and just around in general. I wouldn't mount anything that large in the middle of the dash like that - but then again I'm kinda anal about keeping stuff out of where I look, so thats could be just a me thing. (see attached)

If you are going to go ahead with it anyway, I would consider making it double walled so you could stuff some insulation in there, or some of that Noico Red or whatever the non-russian equivalent is now (tariffs being what they are) the heat shedding has done wonders on my hardtop and underside of the tube to help keep the jeep pleasant in TX 110* summers. I've seen some similar designs slimmer for single row switch pods that are more appealing - but I would focus on minimizing size and thusly sight obstruction, additionally this will let you make a much more gradual slope minimizing print infill (assuming you final product will be 3D printed).
