Hello! First of all, I Just want to say thanks for all the helpful answers to the questions I have had in the past. It really makes owning a jeep on a college student/waiter budget possible! My next question is if anyone has any tips on painting an oem khaki hardtop. After about 6 months of searching, tomorrow I will be picking up a khaki hardtop for my 06' (can you tell I'm excited??😜). The price is just right in my mind for the scratches and need for replacement gas struts. Here are some pictures of the top attached. I'm pretty sure the paint code is ZJ8 for the dark khaki matte paint. Anyway to touch it up in the scratched parts or would you recommend a full re-paint?

Thanks!

You will love it . I’d clean it twice with tsp, sold at paint stores ( tri sodium phosphate)

Leaves no residue

Sand with 220

Use glazing putty in any minor defects

Tack rag it

Then paint with a single stage automotive enamel.

I got my first hardtop ever this year...they are really nice.

Awesome, thanks Andy!

I think @AndyG has you covered for paint suggestions.

When you go to look at it, look it over really carefully for cracks. These tops are known to be somewhat fragile and even storing them incorrectly can lead to fractures that can be fairly costly to repair. Also inspect the gasket carefully as it will mean the difference between a nice dry, quiet ride and a damp, whistling mess. Check the bolt holes to make sure they are not broken/cracked.

Hoping for the best and a deal that makes you a trully happy-camper (y)
