Things that annoy you?

hahah I was wondering what you meant when you said "I’m finding this red and white therapeutic."... ???

Oh wow... stupid friggin' phone! I was trying to type "very refreshing and therapeutic" not sure how my phone got "red and white" from that.

I thought of a few more things though...

1) When people put periods after their thread title, i.e. "Help with no start issue.". Pretty sure this is their smartphone's doing, but I always have to go in and delete the period because it bothers me!

2) When people cut me off on the highway just to go about 5 mph faster, and then get to the exact same place I'm going at exactly the same time. See, unless you're going 50 mph faster than me, you're not going to get to where I'm going any faster at all in all honesty.

3) When I'm at the gym and people are on their phones, sitting on the exercise equipment, not using it, but just texting away (or doing whatever they are doing). MOVE OUT OF MY WAY SO I CAN ACTUALLY USE THE EQUIPMENT!!!

4) When people text and drive (seriously, I'm tempted to bash your window out). Riding a motorcycle, I take this sort of crap seriously.

Yes, this is a modern day snowflake culture. It's why I'm always saying that for some reason the modern generation is a bunch of self-absorbed, selfie-taking assholes. I'm not trying to say everyone is that way, but a good majority of them are.

I blame it on social media. People are used to constantly posting their every waking moment (sharing stupid shit from the color of their toilet seat to their thoughts on the person who is serving them lunch). They share their photos, get people liking and commenting on it, and this leads them to become self-absorbed, assuming that everyone in the real world (outside of social media I mean) wants to hear about them and everything they're doing. I don't want to derail this thread, but again, this can all be traced back to the way social media is reprogramming people's minds.
Its not t Facebook... its the helicopter parents that think Johnny should get a ribbon or trophy for just playing soccer... instead of being good at it. Its the teachers that don't give grades. This stuff was around way before Facebook.

True. But I think that social media in general makes it worse. It gives those kids a place to share their every waking moment, get people to "like" their photos, comment on their bullshit, and make them feel like they have a million friends and followers, when reality it's not even real life.

So in my opinion, it's a combination of things. But you're right, it starts with parenting. It all starts with parenting, can't deny that one bit.

Doing the speed limit in the far-right (slow) lane, and having some ass-wipe come flying up on me like some alien rectal probe because he wants to pass someone on the right. Acts like I'm in the wrong for doing the speed limit...in the slow lane. So, Johnny Lightning, just where in the hell am I supposed to go? Onto the shoulder so you can squeeze your curb-climbing F150 4X4 between me and the car in the left lane? Maybe I should introduce him to @mrblaine. He sounds like someone not to f%#k with! ;) :D

@Chris is right. This really is therapeutic!

My buddy calls 'em "Participation Trophies" (quite sarcastically, I might add...)
That's exactly what they're called. I was the President of a sports club for about 8 years during the 2000's. I suggested we do away with them as it was a major cost for kids doing NOTHING (about 800 trophies a year). Parents basically said they'd put their snowflake kids into other sports so we kept them. Ridiculous.

I’m not sure why but the lack of signaling really pisses me off. I don’t mind aggressive drivers. Sometimes I have to haul ass to get to work. But I always signal well before turning. it just isn’t that much work.

I do agree it’s often BMWs hahaha
It’s annoying because our senses are already hightened when we drive, you are already alert trying to predict what’s about to happen in front of you so it makes the situation worse when you have people too lazy to give you heads up; just decide to create hazards for everyone else on the road.

From what i understand its linked to the way the indicator stalk functions on BMW's
. I’m not entirely convinced though.

What really annoys me (and my wife) is when people constantly talk about them selves and never let you get a word in at all. If you try to say something, they interrupt and start talking about them selves again! This seems to be happing more and more now days. Is there an epidemic? A lot of people have said the reason they do this is because they have ADD.
We had a discussion about this last night! So true.

Animals inside the house. Ultimately, it’s gross. With carpet it’s the worst. You know there’s pee and fur and s—- and funky microbes in there. You can smell it when you come in.

Letting animals at or on the table or share their plate.

People that slow down and sometimes stop on the feeder. It’s a yield sign folks! You have your own freaking lane. GO, your causing a hazardous situation!

Piles of crap everywhere inside the house, to the point there’s just a trail you have to follow to get somewhere. Throw the ancient Good Housekeeping mags away! They obviously didn’t get through to you

Talk, talk, talk about themselves and never ask about you and obviously don’t care.

Cutting you off mid-sentence to share their bogus unrelated whatever, just to hear themselves talk.

Cell phones taking preference over face to face interaction. Put that thing down.

Wearing headphones everywhere to shut out the world.
