First local Elk since getting to our wintering place a month ago. We've seen lots of deer, and Elk on the Tillamook side of the hill. But no Elk on this side by the ocean.

It's the darndest thing...I saw buffalo (bison) here as well. A dairy farmer here has a heard of about a dozen or so. Can't tell if they are woods bison or plains bison. Need to dig the spotting scope and camera rig out.

Did you get to shoot one? Saw a massive heard (at least 200) Elk off the interstate the other day when I was driving through Sundance.

Nope, Elk season isn't until much later in the year. I think these must have come off of Stimsom Timber land onto a rich guys pasture / yard to graze. It was just after sunset. My phone camera does an amazing job in low light.
