Looking for replacement bolts. I’ve lost mine and was wondering if anybody could point me in the direction of the size of these or place to buy them I’ve been told $45 from one person and $125 from another person seems a little crazy. thanks for the help and the time. Hope you’re having a great day.

LOL

You can go to any auto part store and buy those bolts for pocket change.

Take one of your bolt into ACE Hardware and size it up using their sizing tool. Simple as that.

Man I’d love to. But my little one was helping me mechanic and I’m not sure what she did with any of the six bolts.

in that case we're going to have to wait for someone else to chime in. I don't know the size of that bolt, unfortunately.

The bolts that came out of my ‘06 were 12-24 thread. I’m pretty sure they were OEM. I needed longer one due to adding and antenna mount between the tub and tail light. If I remember correctly, I installed the longer bolts with a flat washer under the head of the new bolt and a star lock washer under the flat washer.

Unfortunately the factory parts diagram is no help, there is no part number or dimensions listed for those bolts.

I need to pull my tail light off anyway, last time I did the threads in the tub for one of the screws were stripped out, I need to take it back off and put in a nutsert. I'll try to get around to it tomorrow and check back if we haven't come up with an answer by then.

You are correct. The holes in the sheet metal are 12-24.

Probably going to have to switch to 10-24 or 1/4-20. 10 is smaller, 1/4" is larger than the #12 size that is there. Even if you moved to metric, same problem. 5 is about the same as a #10 and 6mm is about the same as 1/4". All based on not having run across any 12-24 nutserts. Doesn't mean they don't exist, just not very common if they do.

Indeed, 12-24. I bought a pack of these from Amazon years ago that were that thread. I couldn't find them many other places. Though McMaster probably has them.

I bought some stockers off of eBay but they were nasty and didn't make good contact, so I like the alternatives better.

I can round up a couple of sets of the OEM versions for you if needed. Economy shipping is still gonna be 4-5 bucks if that works?

Looks like they have finally become available.

I'm not sure anyone looking to repair a few holes for the tail light is going to buy a couple of hundred dollar's worth though.

Not only that, you would need to buy a tool that includes a 12-24 mandrel, or be able to buy that size mandrel for whatever tool you currently own. So add that to the cost.

My nutsert tool does not have a 12-24 mandrel, so I am going to use the next closest size.
