I have an 04 rubicon and it came with a blown sub, still worked but sounded like a fork in a garbage disposal. I recently got a double din replacement and have been using without the sub but today tried to replace the sub for a new quadratech one and it is not working.

Sorry I can't offer much advise, but my quadratech replacement sub was plug and play with no issues. The last thing you did was install a double din head unit. I'd check the wiring connections one more time.

The sub amp that came with your Tj tends to last as long as the speaker. You likely have blown the speaker and the crappy amp located right behind/next to it.

Yep, my guess is your factory shitty amp is blown too. Don’t try powering the garbage factory subwoofer with an aftermarket amp either 😉

Best to just replace it all with aftermarket stuff.
