I'm picking up a minty 2005 Wrangler TJ this weekend. The Jeep was used mostly in Puerto Rico and was then shipped to USA. The seller said it came with a stock Dana 44 Rear. However, It's not a Rubicon. My question is,, did some of these stock 2005s come with a Dana 44 Rear?

Yes it was an option on every trim level, except X I believe. It was standard on the LJ, with disc brakes. All others came with Drums.

Only on the Rubicon's, Now, granted the oldest TJ is 29 years old so it is entirely possible that someone at some point swapped one in from a Ranger, Rubicon or other vehicle that came with Dana 44.

I would run the vin to check the build sheet, Its how I was certain my sport came with rear disc brakes
