Steering Cooler Install

Good morning,

Quick question for the gang... I'm getting ready to install Blaines steering cooler this weekend. Does anyone know the tool that would make my life easier and help with the return fittings?

And just to confirm, I'm plumbing in the cooler to the return, from the steering box to the reservoir.

Are asking about removing that clamp (called an "Oetiker clamp" or an "ear clamp") or installing it? Or something else? Removing it can be done several ways, but my favorite is to use a small cutoff disk in a rotary (Dremel) tool. Installing it is done with a special pair of pliers. There are many manufacturers of those pliers. Search for either "Oetiker clamp pliers" or "ear clamp pliers."

I cut them with a good set of diagonal cutting pliers. Don't forget to split the hose with a sharp cutting instrument. It is likely well bonded to the return fitting and I've broken a few of them trying to twist the hose off.
