I bought a pair of Bestop soft doors for using in top off weather. I really like them, but immediately missed having an arm rest. The doors have Velcro for the uppers to seal against so I decided to make use of it for arm rests.
I bought some 1 1/4 x 1/16 aluminum angle and made 2 cuts to shape to the door. I then put some 1/8 foam tape on the outside for padding, then covered in almost matching vinyl. Then added some Velcro to the inside to attach.
Much better now. They feel very sturdy and I think give it a more finished look.
