Small Leak Evap Code Gas Cap Leaking

Hey everyone,

I did a complete frame swap on my 98 TJ and I have found a solution to my other evap code (large leak). I am having trouble with a small leak code. I did a smoke test and it’s coming out of the fuel cap. I have tried after market caps and a new OEM cap and it’s still not sealing. I did replace the filler neck when I did the swap so that’s my only thought it could be still since my caps are not “clicking” down when tightening them. Anyone have a recommendations on brands for filler necks or how to stop this leak so I can get rid of this code?

Kept getting p0456, changed gas caps twice, put a known good gas cap on, code still returned. I noticed that the vent hose for the filler neck was not tight around the nipple at the tank. Put a hose clamp there and code has not returned. Check the condition of the filler hoses.

Sounds good I’ll check those again! I thought I tightened all of that well and the hoses looked good before putting the body back on. When I do a smoke test I see it coming between the cap and the neck.
