Hi everyone,
My Jeep (98 4.0) just started dropping antifreeze. We had a water pump replaced last summer. We don’t drive it much, maybe 2,000 miles a year. I was going over my fluids and saw my antifreeze was below the min line. I filled it. We drove it 3-4 times. Maybe 20ish minutes. Since then, the fluid builds pressure when hot but as it cools it drops a slight amount. I’m now about 1/2 inch below the mark I filled to. Nothing is dripping. I can’t see anything obvious. Thermostat may have some color change on it but I can’t remember if that was there before. Color isn’t white like they say is left from dried antifreeze. No smoke. No exhaust smell in the reservoir. Replaced the radiator cap with a new one. Oil looks fresh and new. Pressure test was done for 2 hours and nothing changed. No sweet smell in that I can find. Motor isn’t getting high temp readings on the gauge. Any ideas or suggestions on where to look?
