We hit 111F today. I see Phoenix hit 116. I looked on Ventusky https://www.ventusky.com/ and saw temps of 119-120 along the lower Central CA. Valley and into Mexico. Death Valley only hit 112.
Our AC is a 2 stage and it rarely kicks into high but today it's been doing it all day. It's probably 140 or so in the attic.

Put new cooler pads in both shop coolers, had to get up at 4:30 AM to get it done. Had it down to 77 in there earlier but I shut them off and went back later it was 94, I was only able to bring it down to 82 with the coolers. If you start them early in the day it works best but not worth the water and electricity if I'm not working out there. Stayed in the house all day.

It was pretty hot here today in Wyoming as well. It hit 95 which happens occasionally in the summer but not too often. The nice thing is that it cools down into the low 60s or high 50s at night. Tomorrow is supposed to be 85 and then Friday is 69. Summers here are pretty mild which I like.

Yeah, we hit 116 while on the way to 118.

Edit: This was on evening weather:

That’s the nice thing about these high elevations. We may have days where it gets warm but it always cools down at night. That’s one thing I certainly don’t miss about Arizona is how in the summertime it would still be 100° when you walk outside at two in the morning.

It's been quite a few years but I remember being out one night and passing a bank that had a time/temp sign out in front and it said 11:11 and 111F. No cell phone in those days to take a pic.

I grew up and lived within 40 miles of the Gulf Coast for 40 years, so I have experienced heat with humidity (and cold with humidity - you feel that down to the bones). After living in 110+ temperatures, when I go back and visit folks on the Coast, it just doesn't feel hot. They're all complaining about how hot it is, and I'm thinking "This isn't bad at all. It's 20+ degrees cooler than Phoenix".

You're in Gillette now? Well...at least it's not Casper. :ROFLMAO:

Casper isnt too bad. I think it gets a bad rap based on what you see from I25, which is garbage. WHen you get into the Town though (west and south), its a decent town in my opinion.

Cheyenne just sucks. I blame all the transients from I25 and I80.

Casper isn't bad eh? Ever drive through felony flats? 🤣

I have! Not saying I'd move back....

Just like any place, there can be some sketchy areas. I lived in casper for several years after I graduated college. Lived in paradise valley.
