I'm looking to get a shop press for my Garage... anyone have recommendations or items to look for / stay away from?

6/12/20 ton?

Floor vs bench top? Minimum working range etc?

The 20-ton Harbor Freight is a bargain. It paid for itself on the first job I did (axle bearings on a Subaru). Can't believe I waited so long to get one. And btw, I've seen a number of reviews where people who bought the 12-ton said they ultimately regretted not buying the 20-ton. Just something to take into consideration.

Yep HF 20 ton.

Shop I worked in where I was taught R&P setups, it’s what they used and did the job. Hell I have a HF 3 ton Jack going on 25 years old. Works like day one. (might have been called something other than HF back then, but still Chy-NA hydro.)

I added the caster wheels to mine, simple to roll around.

I made my own shop press about 35 yrs. ago. One thing that bothered me was the wasted space below most press beds so I made it wide enough to put a roller cabinet under it. The top makes for a good work surface and I use the drawers to store press related tools, jigs, etc. and tools for my drill press.
